  • How do you qualify for a handset deal?

    Requirements for Full-Time Employment Applicants
 To be considered for full-time employment, applicants must meet the following criteria:


    • Minimum net salary of R6000 per month
    • Submission of the last 120 days of sequential bank statements
    • Submission of a valid ID document
    • Submission of recent payslip

    Requirements for Self Employed Applicants

     

    • Submission of the last 180 days of sequential bank statements
    • Submission of a valid ID document

  • Can I get a phone without a credit check?

    Yes

  • How do I confirm the specifications of my new handset?

    Key specifications of devices are listed on this website. By accepting the T&C's, the applicant accepts those specifications as well as any colour the phone may be.


    Please note that colours of devices may differ and cannot be guaranteed, regardless the colour of the phone per artworks displayed on this site. Subscribers agree to accept the colour of the handset.

  • What is the duration of the subscription agreement?

    The duration of the subscription contract is 18 months.

  • How do I pay for my subscription?

    Monthly subscriptions with Purple Mobile require a Debicheck mandate authorized by you at your bank. 


    Once set up, you will receive a message on your cellphone from your bank asking for approval of the monthly payments. The payment date will coincide with your salary payment date, ensuring that payments are made on time



  • Do you have a Discovery Bank account?

    Discovery Bank does not currently offer DebiCheck debit orders, which means that we are unable to assist any applicant whose salaries are paid into any of these banks.

  • How to cancel an order before delivery ?

    To cancel  a subscription agreement before delivery, please follow these steps:


    Request the cancellationfrom our Support team on the WhatsApp number provided.

    Cancellation of the Subscription Agreement less than 10 days before or after payment of the Activation Fee and First Monthly Subscription will result in the non-refundable R299 activation fee. This is due to Purple Mobile incurring costs such as marketing and sales agent expenses, SIM card costs, DebiCheck debit order charges, and collections expenses.


  • How to cancel an existing subscription?

    To cancel your subscription agreement, please follow these steps:

    • Request the Notice of Cancellation form from our Support team on the WhatsApp number provided.
    • Fill out the form
    • Submit the completed form as per the terms of your subscription agreement.

    Once we receive your completed Notice of Cancellation form, we will process your request as per the terms of your subscription agreement.

Technical & Top Up

  • Can Purple Mobile accommodate Premium Rated SMS's?

    A Premium Rate SMS is a 5 digit shortcode (e.g. 31941) that carries a standard or premium rate charged to the sender of the SMS


    As a prepaid SIM, Purple Mobile is not able to accomodate Premium Rated SMS. 


    Voice, Standard SMSs and data products are pre loaded onto a SIM after payment has already been received and there is no "Account" that could be billed for the cost of Premium Rated SMSs.

    Me&You SIM Card (Cell C)

    Follow these easy steps to buy airtime on your banking app and convert to Minutes / Data / Combo:  


    1. Register your me&you Cellphone number on your banking app 
    2. Choose Cell C as the Network Provider  Buy Prepaid Mobile *Airtime* (Example R12 - Rand value) 4. Dial *140# to convert the airtime to a bundle (Voice / Data / Combo) 5. Select 2 to Convert Airtime to Bundle 6. Available options will display depending on your rand value available to convert. PS.
